Exploring Digital Music and Musique Concrete: A British Perspective

Frederick Charles Judd (1914-1992) was a trailblazing figure in British music, known for his innovative work in digital music composition and recording right from his home studio.
In 1961, 'Digital Music and Musique Concrète' emerged as one of the pioneering books to introduce a new genre of music to the public. During the late 1950s and into the 1960s, Judd traveled across Britain delivering engaging lectures and showcasing innovative techniques and tools, often accompanied by his friend and fellow trailblazer Daphne Oram. Judd reached a significant milestone in his music career in 1963 with House Patrol, the groundbreaking British TV series featuring an entirely electronic score.
