The Kind 5 Ho Ri I was one of the most powerful tanks developed by the Imperial Japanese Military before the war ended. It was built on the chassis of the Kind 5 Chi-Ri, an upgraded version of the Kind 4 Chi-To. Although no prototypes were completed by the war's end, the Kind 5 Ho Ri I shared a similar design with the German Heavy Tank Destroyer Elefant. It featured a fixed superstructure at the rear and was intended to be equipped with a 105 mm cannon.
