Product Description
Utilizing oil or grease on valve springs helps protect the instrument and ensures a smoother operation. It's essential to maintain the valve springs to keep the instrument in top condition and prevent any wear and tear.
To start the valve spring replacement process, remove the valve covers, rocker arms, and rocker rails. Next, position the Backside Aluminum plate where the rocker bolts were located, followed by placing the center part on top with the stud. Secure it in place using the provided bolts, making sure it aligns centrally between the two valve springs. Use a ratchet and socket to hand-tighten the assembly, avoiding over-tightening to prevent damage. Before proceeding, apply grease to the stud and install the provided nut on top of the valve springs. If the work is being done on an installed engine head, use compressed air in the spark plug hole to keep the valves closed. Slowly tighten the nut by hand only, without using an impact tool that could lead to overheating and thread damage. Once the springs are compressed, carefully remove the valve keepers with a magnet to prevent them from falling into the head. Reverse the nut, release the tension slowly, and take out the springs. Repeat the process for installing the new springs, ensuring the valve keepers are correctly positioned before releasing the tension.
Setting up the valve springs correctly is the initial step in the process of removing them using a specialized tool .
When putting in, if there may be an error on the left, it is advisable to flip the T-shaped piece block earlier than utilizing it.
